Rock & Roll History for September 15
1949: Rick Wakeman, the brilliant keyboardist from Yes, was born. Happy birthday, Rick.
1963: The Beatles played the Royal Albert Hall in London.
1964: The Beatles played at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium. At one point, the band was ordered offstage by local police so the screaming crowd could calm down.
1975: Pink Floyd released their Desert Island Disc Wish You Were Here. What a phenomenal album. I was blessed to see them play it in its entirety at Milwaukee County Stadium.
Rock & roll, baby!
