Rock & Roll History: November 5
I thought these three things were worth noting from November 5th in Rock & Roll History:
1963: The English Daily Mirror ran the headline ‘Beatlemania.’ The paper has some very nice things to say about our favorite lads from Liverpool: “You have to be a real sour square not to love the nutty, noisy, happy, handsome Beatles…If they don’t sweep your blues away, brother, you’re a lost cause. If they don’t put a beat in your feet, sister, you’re not listening.”
1965 : The Who’s released “My Generation.” If this isn’t my favorite song from the Godfathers of Punk, it’s undoubtedly in the top three.
1970: Led Zeppelin released “Immigrant Song” from their third album. Got a chance to see Heart cover this classic during their set at Summerfest in June.
