Rock and Roll Q & A

“What do you get when you fall in love?”~Burt Bacharach via Dionne Warwick.

“I’ve got blisters on my fingers”~Beatles (specifically, Ringo).

Yes, I know it’s sick…but it made me laugh when I thunk it up.

In my demented mind it’s totally appropriate for Valentine’s Day.

And I’d love to see it on a greeting card. Hallmark, are you listening :-)

Rock & Roll Church in 2011???

December 29, 2010 By: Joe Heuer Category: Cool Rock & Roll Stuff, Rock & Roll Inspired Musings, Rock and Roll Philosophy 12 Comments →

At least once a week someone on Twitter references, suggests or urges me to start the ball rolling on a Church of Rock & Roll.

It always puts a smile on my face for a few seconds, and then I move on.

Today was a different story. My Twitter friend @dirtrdblues and I had fun bantering about the idea, so I picked up the domain name RockandRollChurch.com

Wondering who might wanna join our flock (not to be confused with A Flock of Seagulls).

As Hunter S. Thompson said, “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” And anyone who knows me will tell you I’ve never turned my back on weird.

Love is the ultimate key to unlocking our dreams.

Fear is a dream’s adversary. Cast off fears by bathing them in the light of your love.

In order to live a fulfilled life, pursuing a dream is an essential component.

Do what you love and love what you do. Do it with all the love in your heart. That’s my definition of living a dream.

Living our dreams means groovin’ on the journey, irrespective of the outcome.

When we take action on our dreams from a place of love, we effortlessly slip into the inspired state of flow.

Living our dreams compels us to be creative contrarians.

Joni Mitchell: “Free Man in Paris”

One of my favorite memories associated with Joni Mitchell was wandering the streets of Paris some twenty years ago singing “Free Man in Paris” at the top of my lungs. And yes, I did get many strange looks.

Here’s Joni, backed by Tom Scott and the LA Express, playing that groovy tune way back when…as an added bonus, we also get to see her do “You Turn Me On.”

Hey folks…I’m at recess this week, and the vibe here at headquarters is truly splendiferous. We’re planning some incredibly groovy stuff, and as things become official I’ll share it all here (and on Twitter) first.

Much will be revealed Monday.

In the meantime, to quote the Fab Four, “All my loving, I will send to you.”

Today’s Rock and Roll Philosophy

According to Rock and Roll Philosophy, reality is nothing more than a socially-conditioned hypnosis that can be obliterated only by imagination.

Of course, the reality is that I could be just imagining that…or perhaps I’m in a hypnotic trance…

Can you hear the theme song from The Twilight Zone right now, or is it just my imagination, once again, runnin’ away with me?
