Joe Walsh: Rock & Roll Wisdom
“Life’s been good to me so far.”-Joe Walsh
Every time I think of these words, which is often, I immediately hear Joe Walsh’s classic guitar riff from the song and it brings a smile to my face.
Whenever we think that life’s been good to us so far, it places our attention on gratefulness or appreciation. These are incredibly powerful emotions that attract back to us more experiences, more people and more stuff to appreciate. This happens because we attract into our experience whatever we focus our attention on. Therefore, when we focus on the abundance in our lives, we are deliberately inviting more abundance into our experience.
The b-side of that single is also true. (Please explain this to anyone who doesn’t known what 45s, singles or b-sides are.) When our attention is on what we think we are lacking in our lives, the universe responds to that attention and we continue to attract more of whatever it is we are lacking. Not rocket science here.
Obviously, it serves a wonderful purpose to keep our attention focused on what we are truly grateful for.
What is it that you are grateful for? Making a list or keeping a notebook of the things and people you appreciate helps to serve as a reminder of the many blessings in your life. Whenever you notice that you are feeling a little low, open that notebook and you are certain to begin feeling at least a little bit better.
If you have enough to eat, a roof over your head, clothes on your back and relative health, then life has indeed been good so far. In much of the world, that is considered abundance.

Great post here. Life’s been very good to me so far – health, family, friends, house, even some nice little luxuries.
Love this Joe Walsh song – It has some goofy lyrics, but the title is so true!

Very true. When people ask me how I’m doing, my stock answer is “Roof on the table, food over my head. Can’t complain.”
But seriously folks, “But Seriously Folks” is a great album

Thanks Alexa & Sean! I think we get so busy with all the stuff on our to-do lists that we sometimes forget just how fortunate we are.
