“I’m just trying to keep things simple, and just be a little more offhand and not get so deep into things. Enjoy what you got right now, because who knows what’s going to happen tomorrow.”~Bob Seger

Simplicity and living in the precious present are key components of my Rock and Roll Philosophy.

Happy Birthday, Bob!

Happy birthday to the fantastically groovy Bob Seger!

From the Bob Seger System through the Silver Bullet Band, this roots rocker has delighted us with a slew of classic songs and Desert Island Discs. I distinctly remember when “Night Moves” came out and he catapulted up the charts to become an international superstar. A spectacular run of albums continued with “Stranger in Town,” “Against the Wind” and the outstanding live record, “Nine Tonight.” By this time Seger had firmly cemented his status as one of my all-time favorite rockers!

I have always believed that is the absolute best way to make choices, Rita.

And listening to you sing certainly resonates in my heart.

On Rita Coolidge’s birthday, here she is singing “Superstar.”

Next to the word ‘beautiful’ in the dictionary, there should be a link to Rita singing this song. And yes, I understand it would have to be an online dictionary.

Here’s a great one from birthday boy Willie Nelson. “Blues Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain” has always been one of my favorite Willie tunes.

This one also demonstrates how underrated Willie is as a guitar player.

Ray Davies & Todd Rundgren: Rock & Roll Philosophy

“We’re not like everybody else”~Ray Davies.

“If you’re just living the same life that everybody else is living what’s the point?”~Todd Rundgren.

This is why I live across the street from normal. Actually, I don’t even live on the same planet as normal…and I prefer it that way.

Steven Tyler: Rock & Roll Quote

“I have to get inspired by something that touches my soul, or rocks my soul.”-Steven Tyler

We all know what rocks our souls. As I see it, the great challenge in life is to keep our attention on whatever it is that rocks our souls.

When we do, we are naturally inspired. And that is a truly groovy way to go through life.
