Keith Richards: Rock & Roll Quote
“There’s really only one song in the whole world, and probably Adam and Eve hummed it to each other, and everything else is a variation on it in one form or another.”-Keith Richards
OK, Keef…but what is that one song????? Inquiring minds need to know.
If anyone out there knows what that song is, please enlighten the rest of us.

This guy is absolutely brilliant. Always outspoken, never dull and he probably has a record collection to die for.
The stuff he’s done with that band he’s in ain’t bad, either

Here’s a poem I wrote a couple years ago, it’s called “The Song Unheard”. I don’t know if this is the song Keith is talking about, but I bet it’s pretty darn close.
“The Song Unheard”
To Tammy
Sing to me this sunrise
Sing to me it’s song
Sing to me of morning dew
Glistening in the dawn
Sing to me a bird song
A melody pure and true
Sing it under the golden sky
With a star of deepest blue
Sing to me of rivers
And songs sang at their side
Sing within the lazy sunshine
Daydreams dancing by
Sing to me a rhythm
Unheard but not unknown
That flows from the heart of every being
With the intimacy of a rose
Sing to me a lullaby
From the darkest star above
Sung from creations beginning
Nurtured with her love
Sing to me eternity
A song that never ends
Sing to me of everything
Then sing to me again

Easy answer…In-A-Gadda-Di-Vida. It just so happens that Iron Butterfly attended the Keith Richards’ School of Diction.

One last comment… I wish I had 1/1000th of the talent Keef has. I’m not sure how it happened (or if it’s accurate), but it seems the Stones have more opening riffs that define the song than almost all others. Charlie even had a few (Get Off My Cloud).

Hey Frieds, you do have 1/1000 of his talent!
The song, my friends, is Satisfaction

I concur with JPB, Frieds. You have exactly 1/1000th of the talent Keef has.
Bill, you’re wrong…it ain’t Satisfaction.
