Jon Paris Tears Up Summerfest
Rock and blues guitar legend Jon Paris absolutely tore it up yesterday at the Harley-Davidson Roadhouse at Summerfest.
Paris, a Milwaukee native, is one of the all-time monster guitar players and his two hour set was a killer. After an amazing version of Zeppelin’s “When the Levee Breaks” there was nothing left to say but WOW, or its first cousin, K-E-W-L!!!
This cat has recorded, toured and jammed with the best of the best, including Chuck Berry, Les Paul, Bo Diddley, Johnny Winter, Bob Dylan, Elvin Bishop, Hubert Sumlin and BB King…literally a who’s who of superstars.
As always, Jon blew me away. I’ve seen him countless times over the years, and he’s the real deal. After channeling Hendrix, he lit it up with another Zep, “Rock & Roll”, before closing with a rambuctious “Johnny B Goode.”
Stay tuned…there was another outstanding show after that.

It’s a damn shame that Jon Paris isn’t a household name like Jergins or Crest. He’s one of the very best guitarists, singers, songwriters, showmmen, and all around good guys the world has ever known. You can see him on almost any given Monday night at Lucille’s lounge at B.B. Kings in NYC on 42nd St. between 7th and 8th Avenues. He puts on a looooong show that still makes you want more. SEE THIS GUY PLAY!!! Your ears and soul will thank you.

Paris is indeed a giant, Steven! That was certainly one of my top shows this year. Love the quote! Amen, brother.
