Pink Floyd: Rock & Roll History September 12
September 12, 1975: Pink Floyd’s classic album, Wish You Were Here, was released.
This is my favorite Floyd album and has to be one of my Desert Island Discs. It’s hard to fathom that it was more than 30 years ago that I saw them perform this entire album, as well as all of Animals, at Milwaukee County Stadium. How time flies when you’re having fun!

Couldn’t agree more. I got a review of Wish You Were Here coming up on The Ripple Effect soon. I’ll be very interested to hear your thoughts on that review when it goes up.

I just can’t believe its 33 years since this album was first released. I have loved PF for over 40 years. God, I’m old. So are they! Love them to bits tho. WISH YOU WERE HERE, the album, sounds as fresh today as it was then. We have all the years gone. Amazing.

Its my favorite too…..I was 15 years old in ‘75. I see myself lying on the bottom bunk of my boyfriend Scott’s bed with my feet on the wall, smoking a joint and hearing this for the first time. Its still perfect today. Sigh. Thanks for the great memory…and also the memory of how flippin old I’m getting!

Guru amigo,
The Wish You Were Here review is up on The Ripple Effect. Love it if you’d check it out and add your two cents. Or three with inflation.

It really is an amazing disc. We certainly lost a great one in Richard Wright last week.
