This song lends itself to a fun little lesson in perspective.

Two out of three can be spectacular, mediocre, or as pathetic as a blues singer showing up at your door when he has writer’s block, depending on your perspective.

For example, two out of three for a major league baseball player would mean an automatic first-ballot trip to the Hall of Fame as the greatest hitter who ever lived.

However, two out of three for a surgeon is probably not acceptable.

And two out of three for a pilot would mean absolute catastrophe.

It’s all a matter of perspective.
