Rock & Roll History for (R)october 9th
Some very cool Rock & Roll stuff happened on October 9th.
1940: John Lennon was born at Maternity Hospital on Oxford Street in Liverpool. Rock & roll would not have been the same without his massive contributions.
1944: John Entwistle, the stoic bass player for The Who, was born. This reminds me of staying on the John Entwistle floor at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago this summer.
1966: The Rolling Stones recorded Got Live If You Want It, the first of their many live albums.
1976: The Who and the Grateful Dead co-headlined a show in Oakland. I adore both bands, but this is certainly an odd pairing.
