October 19, 1966: The Yardbirds arrived in New York for their first U.S. tour. After only two show, Jeff Beck abruptly left the band. Fortunately, the role of lead guitarist was still in good hands with Jimmy Page.
October 19, 1968: Steve Marriott of Small Faces asked a young guitarist named Peter Frampton to play with the band at a show in London. Shortly thereafter, Marriott and Frampton left their respective bands and joined together to form Humble Pie.
