Crosby, Stills & Nash: Rock and Roll History
It boggles my mind that forty-one years ago today Crosby, Stills & Nash released their incredible self-titled debut album.
This Desert Island Disc has stood the test of time and is one of my all-time favorite records. Honest to Buddha, this is a freakin’ greatest hits! I’ve been blessed to see the boys perform all the tunes from this one live, most of them several times.
Ten songs on the album and each one holds a special place in my heart.
Is there anything more beautiful than “Helplessly Hoping” and “Guinnevere?”
“Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” holds new meaning for me after getting a chance to meet Judy Collins last year and see exactly what Stephen was singing about.
“Wooden Ships” and “Long Time Gone.” Epic.
I’ve even got a t-shirt with the album cover on it.
Think I’ll go listen to it now. Gonna dig through the albums cuz the CD just won’t cut it today. Gotta hear the vinyl.

I have an original copy with the gatefold sleeve. It is a phenomenal debut. I will be seeing them again this summer. As you well know, they just don’t make ‘em like this anymore…
